Thadean Bette Puryear Moore

Thadean Bette Puryear Moore, 96, passed away February 25, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 3, 1929 in Harnett County to the late William “WA” Archie Puryear and Rebecca Ann Wood Puryear.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Moore, Jr.; son, Melvin Ray Moore; granddaughter, Elizabeth Dianne Reynolds Snow (Husband - Edward Snow Jr); 4 Brothers and 2 sisters.

Thadean is survived by her sister, Joyce Puryear Holder (Elbert) of Broadway, NC; children, Sandra Dianne Moore of Broadway, NC, Donna Moore Hooper (James) of Broadway, NC, Karen Moore Farr (Chris) of Chesapeake, VA, and daughter in Law, Beverly Moore of Broadway, NC. Grandchildren include Larry Reynolds (Samantha) of Broadway, NC, Timothy Hooper (Fran) of Sanford, NC, Matthew Hooper of Broadway, NC, Andrew Hooper (Ashley) of Hamptonville, NC, Rachel Farr of Fredrick, MD, Sarah, Joshua, Lydia Farr of Chesapeake, VA. Great Grandchildren include Megan West of Florida. Melissa Haase (Jimmy) of Texas. Mason Snow (Amanda) of Broadway, NC, Andrea and Bailey Rowe of Broadway, NC, Hailey and Kadence Reynolds of Broadway, NC, Taylor Hooper of Iowa. Matthew Pike of Georgia. Jaxson and Avery Hooper of Hamptonville, NC. and Great Great Grandchildren include Paisley and Athena Greene of Broadway, NC. and Raynie Alder of Iowa. 

Thadean had a deep faith in Christ and was a lifelong member of Union Methodist Church.  She loved feeding her birds while listening to the windchimes.  She loved tending to her flowers and was known for her green thumb.  She was loved and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at Union Methodist Church, 2212 Nursery Rd, Lillington, NC 27546 on  Sunday, March 1, 2026 from 2pm – 2:45pm with the funeral service beginning at 3pm. The graveside service will follow in the church cemetery.

 Memorials may be made in Thadean’s honor to Union Methodist Church.
