William Franklin “Bill” Wiley



Retired US Air Force Senior Master Sergeant William Franklin “Bill” Wiley, 84, of Lillington, passed away on Thursday, May 10th.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, at 11 am in St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Fuquay-Varina with Father Torres presiding. The burial will follow at Westview Cemetery in Lillington with military honors.

Bill served in the US Air Force for 20 years including the Vietnam war. Following his military career, he farmed, tended his cattle and ran his refrigeration business, Wiley Services, which he loved doing. While running his business he would spend time with his customers and they grew into his extended family. He was a honest, fair and caring person, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a loving husband.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, John Tripp, Jr.

Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Delores M. Wiley; 4 children, Debbie Suggs and husband Craig of Johnsonville, Gary Wiley of Lillington, Terry Wiley and wife Shelia of Lillington, and Gail Hobbs and husband Rodney of Bunnlevel; 9 grandchildren, Wesley Wiley, William Wiley and wife Casey, Alisia Tripp, Samantha Stevens and husband Leon, Tyler Suggs, Kyle Wiley and wife Sophie, Kaylynn Everette and husband Adam, Kristyn Hobbs and Zack Hobbs; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, David Wiley and wife Janet of Forest Lake, MN; two sisters, Pat Savage of Lake City, MN and Joanne Plante and husband Bill of Bellevista, AR; and “Adopted Son” Ty Johnson of Lillington.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, May 16, from 6 to 8 pm at O’Quinn Peebles Phillips Funeral Home.
