Mrs. Cheryl Knight, 61, of Lillington passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center in Durham. She was born in Oakland, CA, the daughter of Earl Haas and the late Estella Brush Haas. She was also preceded in death by her beloved uncle, Donald Brush. Cheryl worked at the Fayetteville Ambulatory Center as a Surgical Technologist for 19 years. She enjoyed cooking for friends and family and loved her animals, especially Angus. Cheryl enjoyed travelling to the beach and the Redwood forests in her home state. She was very creative, artistic and had an outgoing personality. Cheryl enjoyed lovingly teasing those closest to her. She never let anything slow her down and lived life to the fullest.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Kevin Knight of the home; daughter, Kelsey Knight (Nick) of Wake Forest, NC; father, Earl Haas (Irene) of Lake Stevens, WA; 3 brothers, Bill Haas of Newark, CA, Bob Haas (Margaret) of Redding, CA and Jim Haas (Beth) of Santa Rosa, CA; sister, Diana Haas (Gary) of Goldsboro, NC; several beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at O’Quinn-Peebles-Phillips Funeral Home in Lillington Wednesday, May 3, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Duke University Medical Center, l710 W. Main St., Suite 200, Durham, NC 27701 or HAWC (Harnett Co. Animal Welfare Coalition) 309 W. Duncan St., Lillington, NC 27546.

Cheryl and I had many laughs together. We have also cried together as we both have needed day each others shoulders over the years. There is one conversation that I recall. We discussed our belief in Jesus Christ. So even though I will miss your smile and your giggle, I know I will see and hear you again my friend. Love you My Sweet Cheryl.

Chief tech Kellis you will always be to us. No one will ever replace your place in my heart. Working with you was always easy because you made it fun. Your personality and sense of humor cannot be matched. I love you girl and will see you again one day. I'm so happy you have a new body without RA, may you spread your wings wide my friend you deserve it. Hugs and prayers for all your family and friends you left behind. We will never forget you 😢😢

Cheryl and I spent many days in the OR together. i will always have fond memories of her. she was loving and caring and a friend. my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. may her memory be eternal
