James Earl Vinson



James Earl Vinson, 68 of Lillington died Monday, June 12, 2017 at his home. Mr. Vinson was the son of the late James Thurman and Vestal Parker Vinson and was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Vinson.

James loved NASCAR racing and WWE Smackdown, but more than anything, he loved to dance the Two-Step with his devoted and loving wife Phyllis. He was a wonderful grandfather to his grandson Landon and a fur daddy to his best buddy Pete. He worked at Winn Dixie Warehouse in Raleigh and later at US Foods in Zebulon.

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Deaton and Rev. Martin Groover officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00—1:45 prior to the service in the church sanctuary, other times at his home.

Mr. Vinson is survived by his wife Phyllis Spence Vinson. Step daughters: Samantha Campbell and Jessica Campbell, both of the home. Grandson, Landon Smith. Sisters: Viola Beal (Junior) of Stedman; Becky Gehl (Rick) of Southern Pines; Tracy Bullard of Fayetteville. Brothers: Larry Vinson (Donna) of Eastover; Dean Vinson (Elaine) of Fayetteville; and Roger Vinson of Fayetteville. Numerous nieces and nephews.
